Our story

Bolid System is an independent type foundry co-founded in 2025 by Arthur Schwarz and Maël Bächtold. With a shared background in visual communication and type design, we follow a clear and complementary approach. Both graduates of ÉCAL, we built a design practice that combines precision with forward-looking ideas. Arthur brings deep experience in typography as a designer and creative strategist, while Maël works across type design, poster design and identity systems.

Together, we create typefaces ranging from bold display styles to extensive text families, always crafted with precision, purpose and care. We see type as a material that shapes how ideas are seen, read and understood.
